International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals
The IADWP was created over 15 years ago with the name MeWed as a steward for conferences and commercial fairs held for Destination Wedding professionals who were interested in increasing their knowledge of Mexican hotels and providers.
In 2008, the IADWP was the number market resource for attracting, educating and empowering the destination wedding community. Its first event, Love Mexico, was the basis for different programs in countries including Canada, the U.S., Guatemala, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Italy and Turkey. Over the years the IADWP has become a leader in Wedding and Romance Tourism events, and:
- A standard in organizing Destination Wedding and Romance Industry events in the Americas, and as of 2020 in Europe and Asia.
- Its events are a unique and effective window for travel, wedding and destination wedding professionals, particularly Travel Agents and Wedding Planners.
- Its goal is to offer excellent networking, full of opportunities for exhibitors and attendees.
- Over 1000 professionals per year attend these events.
- Four new chapters were created in 2020: Eurasia, United States, Canada and South America, for a total of over 30 active chapters today in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa.
- It is the only association focused on Destination Weddings.
- Proud organizers of: World Romance Travel Conference – Love México, Congreso de Bodas LAT, Italy Romántica, Guatemala Romántica, México Romántico, to mention just a few, as well as the International Certification of Destination Wedding Planner.
Its main objective is to develop a platform for continuous education and new business opportunities to educate and empower professionals of the Romance Tourism Industry.
IADWP is characterized by its innovative education offering, and for inspiring for generating global business for our community of over 2500 members.
It is currently the largest association of this type to offer international conferences and in-person and on-line seminars as well as certification programs, assuring that it is always up to date in the industry.
